Getting a Passport in San Francisco

In San Francisco, we have everything you need to get a same day passport, or a passport renewal in a hurry. The Passport Agency here is a little more easy going than in some other cities, but you still have to follow all the right rules.

What you should know about how to get a passport in San Francisco:

• The Regional Passport Agency is very busy here, so it can be difficult to get an appointment in time for your trip. Call us right away if you think you need help.
• The San Francisco Agency has tight restrictions on the number of processing slots that are allocated to expediters. This means that our slots can fill up, especially early in the week and around federal holidays.
• The Agency requires printed travel itineraries for all expedited applications, but they do not require airline tickets to be purchased prior to receiving the new passport.
• Passport Cards are available through this location.
• If your application type requires approval at a local acceptance facility first (most do), you'll have to get that done before giving your documents to us. Most of the nearby acceptance facilities in San Francisco do not open early enough to allow you to get your documents approved and beat the morning cutoff time at the Passport Agency, and they require appointments anyway.
