Facebook and Skype Make a Beautiful Pair

Facebook’s announcement this afternoon regarding their latest video chat product has made major waves throughout the tech world. Even though neither Facebook nor Skype are new ideas, it’s the idea of pairing the two programs together that has made tech consumers very excited. Facebook developed this new video chat program which is fully integrated into the Facebook platform and will not require users to create new passwords or new accounts.
According a recent press release from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, this new development will make video chat easy and accessible:

“CEO Mark Zuckerberg described the service as an easy-to-use extension of the Facebook platform. It works like this, he explained: the user receives a chat request from a friend, the user downloads a simple plug-in and the two start talking face-to-face.”

The new video chat program will be available around the world in the coming weeks.
