White House Puts Terror Plot to Rest

Wednesday, 6 July 2011 in Travel News, US Government News 0 Comments

By Linda Ripoll

A recent rumor regarding a new terror plot against the US was put to rest today as the White House reaffirmed their position. According to various sources, terrorists were planning on implanting bombs inside of passengers in order to bypass the stringent airport security measures. Even though this is strictly a rumor and completely unfounded, airport security will definitely tighten their reigns over the coming weeks in order to thwart any potential terrorists threats or attacks. According to a recent article on LATimes.com, there will be various methods used to keep potential terrorists on their toes:

“Passengers flying to the United States could now face even tougher screening measures, a spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration, Nicholas Kimball, told the Los Angeles Times. "These measures are designed to be unpredictable, so passengers should not expect to see the same activity at every international airport," Kimball said, adding existing methods could not detect plastic explosives under the skin.”

In the wake of 911, many travelers are more than willing to forgo longer waits in the airport security lines, more thorough pat-downs and any other measures that will keep them safe while traveling by air.
