When You Need It in Less than Two Weeks:
You can attempt to make an appointment at a regional passport office to apply in person. You must be able to get to a regional office, provide proof of impending travel, and secure an appointment in time to make your flight. You will be charged the additional $60 expedite fee, and the new passport will be issued directly to you.
When You Need It in Two to Four Weeks:
You can simply write "EXPEDITE" on the envelope and pay an additional $60 to shave about two weeks off the turnaround time. The new passport will be mailed to you.
