My child is too young to sign his/her own passport. How do I sign it?

In the signature space, the child's mother, father or legal guardian should print the child's name and sign their own name. Then, write the word "(mother)," "(father)" or "(guardian)" in parentheses next to the signature, so that the Department of State can determine who signed for the child.
